Installations

痕跡 (Konseki)

In June 2025, I participated in an interdisciplinary glass and architecture class through the RISD Global Studies program and travelled to Akita, Japan, to create a glass installation inside the Matsukura House. Participating alongside students from the Akita University of Art, me and 4 other students (Xavier Cortes, Honoka Fujisawa, Louis Liu, Jolin Zheng) installed a collection of illuminated glass bowls, glass pebbles, and stringed glass cane in 2 rooms at Matsukura. With consideration to the rooms’ purpose as the guest spaces, we focused on the theme of gathering, inviting visitors to collect glass pebbles from the first room and placing them in the second room as a way of leaving their mark upon the space. Pieces of cane strung together in a curtain-like fashion were draped across the spaces, guiding visitors into the space and inviting them to interact with the environment.
